Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
What is the difference between disinfecting and cleaning?
Cleaning aims to remove dirt from a surface. By vigorously scrubbing the surface with soap and water, organic matter (proteins, blood, saliva, feces, etc.) and the majority (80%) of microbes (bacteria, viruses, fungi) that can cause infections are eliminated. Disinfection aims to eliminate microbes. It is carried out using a chemical product that will destroy the majority of them. Note that cleaning must precede the disinfection step to remove all dirt and allow the disinfectant to work properly.

What product should I use to clean stainless steel?
The 2-in-1 cleansing cream effectively removes fingerprints and grease. However, be careful not to apply too much product, as the clay content can be difficult to rinse off. Don't forget to rinse with water, and for optimal results, finish with a touch of all-purpose cleaner.
Do the products expire?
Planette products do not contain any organic materials other than a low concentration of essential oils. Their effectiveness lasts over time, but the scent may change slightly over time.
Do products change texture over time/temperature?
Planette household products are made from 100% natural ingredients and are preservative-free. Therefore, their texture and appearance may change over time or depending on temperature; they may separate. This is why it is important to shake the bottles before each use.
Are the essential oils used safe for pregnant women, children and animals?
There are certain precautions to take, especially when essential oils are applied directly to the skin or used as a curative treatment orally. However, their use in our compositions is not at a percentage high enough to cause side effects. Therefore, they can be used without problem by pregnant women, children, and for animals.

The base of our dish soap is a soap composed primarily of olive oil, and the oil does not foam. Note that even without foam, it is as effective as commercial soaps.

Can floor soap be used on an oiled surface (exotic wood)?
No, since the soap base used in the composition of the floor soap is Marseille soap made from olive oil which has a degreasing power which could alter the oil of the floor in the long term.
How much floor cleaner should I put in a refillable bottle (Swiffer style)?

Laundry Detergent / Toddler Detergent

Our laundry detergents are formulated with 100% natural ingredients and contain only essential oils. Therefore, they do not contain any irritating chemicals that could cause allergic reactions.
Will my clothes stay scented?
All Planette products are scented with essential oils. There are no artificial fragrances or flavors. Therefore, odors evaporate and last only for the moment of use. Rest assured, your laundry will smell fresh and clean.
Is laundry detergent compatible with front-loading (fwd) washing machines?
HE = High Efficiency. This means the washing machine uses less water during the rinse cycle and it's less necessary to use a soap that doesn't foam. However, our laundry detergent is based on Marseille soap, an olive oil soap that doesn't foam. It can therefore be used without worry in front-loading (HE) washing machines.
What makes laundry detergent a 2-in-1 product?
Our laundry detergent contains baking soda, which is a natural fabric softener. There's no need to add another fabric softener since our 100% natural laundry detergent won't stiffen the fibers in your clothes.
Can cloth diapers be washed with regular laundry detergent?
Yes, regular detergent won't clog diapers because our Marseille soap doesn't contain glycerin; it's a household-grade product. However, some schools of thought suggest that washing soda could damage elastic bands over time. This is why a "cloth diaper" version was developed.
What is the difference between regular laundry detergent and toddler (cloth diaper) laundry detergent?
Toddler laundry detergent is a Marseille soap concentrate only. Regular laundry detergent, in addition to Marseille soap concentrate, includes baking soda (fabric softener/deodorizer) and washing soda (stain remover).
