Our star ingredient: Marseille soap
At Planette, all products are based on Marseille soap, an olive oil-based soap which in addition to cleaning, degreases and stains. It is hypoallergenic, biodegradable with disinfectant and antibacterial properties.
The worldwide reputation of Marseille soap is based on its reputation for quality and authenticity. Consumers around the world recognize its traditional value, and it has gained popularity during COVID as it was approved in Europe as a disinfectant for covid-19.
We collaborate with the Sérail ( https://www.savon-leserail.com/ ) which is one of the last 4 soap factories to produce Marseille soap according to standards
ancestral. During a site visit, we negotiated with them the use of their scraps which we buy by weight and transform
in our recipes.
Made from a maximum of 5 ingredients
In Canada, no law requires manufacturers to publish the complete list of their ingredients. At Planette, we believe you have the right to know what's really in the products you buy. Moreover, according to David Suzuki, a self-respecting “green” household cleaner label must include, among other things, a complete and precise list of ingredients. Not only does Planette do this, but this list is simple and does not require a doctorate to understand. Each formulation is composed of a maximum of 5 natural ingredients.
Odors from essential oils
The smell of traditional products is a simulation carried out using perfumes. We use smells to make
believe the potential buyer that the product is effective or simply a good purchase. The smell comforts, makes you happy or reminds you of cleanliness. The thing is, cleanliness smells absolutely nothing! Dirt smells. You never miss an old dish in the fridge. But the smell that we associate with cleanliness is entirely built around the marketing strategy of the companies that sell us their products except... at home!
The smells that accompany Planette products come from essential oils, they tell us about the properties of the product. We will therefore associate the smell of tea tree with an anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-septic effect in application and with a calming effect in aromatherapy. It is also under this principle that the synergies of essential oils contained in Planette household products are created.
Products that promote the proper functioning of septic systems
The term "safe for septic systems" is a term widely and falsely used by associating the ecological quality of a product with the safety of its use for septic systems. However, several “ecological” ingredients considered “biodegradable” can kill bacteria essential to the effectiveness of septic systems.
Planette actively collaborates with DBO expert ( https://dboexpert.com/ ), a company highly specialized in the installation of septic systems. They have tested our products directly in their system and now recommend our products!
A septic installation for an isolated residence operates by a biological process; These are bacteria that treat water. Bacteria must therefore be protected – this is exactly what Planette products do, they promote the proper functioning of septic systems.
The Marseille soap at the base of our product is made up of 72% real olive oil. This biodegradable fatty substance helps dislodge bacteria from the house without killing them. It envelops microorganisms and breaks their chemical bond which allows them to cling to surfaces. Our cleaners dislodge without destroying bacteria and send them to the septic tank, where they can be put to use. To contribute? But yes ! A septic installation for an isolated residence operates by a biological process; These are bacteria that treat water.
Products designed to be part of your families' daily lives
Since our young childhood, household products have been automatically linked to the notion of danger, with images of skeleton hands and skulls in mind. Gone are the days when products had to be kept in a safe! Planette products are designed to be part of our families' daily lives.
All the ingredients included in our formulations are present in a concentration well below the limit set to belong to a toxicological hazard class. Thus, all members of the family can use them carefully, avoiding contact with the eyes. A situation that could have been catastrophic will remain a simple anecdote to tell! Oops ! Luckily it’s from Planette.
Consistent manufacturing
Surprisingly, several products proudly bearing the ecological label on their label come from a manufacturing method that quickly cancels this promise.
For us, an ecological product loses its vocation if the manufacturing is not oriented towards sustainable development.
Our factory is oriented towards sustainable development and the circular economy.
Among others:
- Our raw materials are purchased in bulk.
- We transform Marseille soap scraps.
- Our cardboard boxes are recycled boxes.
- Our shipments contain papers that cannot be recycled, to which we give a second life.
In addition, we only work with soap scraps which are recovered from the soap factory and transformed to be integrated into our formulations.
A reduced product cabinet, effective in all circumstances
The current trend towards overconsumption has led companies to create products so specific that the average household must have a dozen household products for its maintenance. However, most products contain similar formulations, but different names and a different smell are used to increase purchases.
Planette products move away from this trend of creating one product per task. We offer versatile products that serve a purpose and accomplish multiple tasks! With 4 Planette products, you can accomplish more than 36 tasks!
Uncompromising efficiency
When we talk about natural cleaning products, many start with a severe prejudice about effectiveness, since they have been repeatedly disappointed with the purchases made or associate it with water and vinegar.
Planette creates a new reality: natural household products can easily compete with chemical products. We are so convinced of it that you can borrow a discovery bag from mother nature to try.
